Birthday Celebrations Part 2 - Dear's Birthday

We also celebrated Dear's birthday with his family the same day as his Grandma's birthday. We had a simple dinner that night and then it was cake-cutting time. Kendrick seems to 'understand' birthdays since he had his first birthday celebration. When he sees the cake and we tell him it's Happy Birthday time, he will clap his hands. As we sang the song, he continued to clap his hands like we do too. Hehe. Cute little fella'. He was pretty well-behaved when we celebrated his Papa's birthday so here's some photos...

Birthday Celebrations Part 1 - Kendrick's Great Grandma

Last weekend, we celebrated Kendrick's Great Grandma's birthday with the whole big extended family. This is Dear's Dad's side of the family, so it was a really big gathering. Anyway, we had buffet lunch at Riverview Hotel and basically just took the time to have a bit of interaction with the relatives. For Kendrick, it was a good chance for him to play with his cousins. Well, technically they are Dear's cousin's kids, so I suppose Kendrick and them are also cousins? Haha... But Kendrick being him, preferred to walk about on his own. I guess he still do not know how to really 'play with other kids' that well. Sometimes he would walk near the other kids, but most of the time he would play on his own. After we were done with the eating, we also had a photo session. Really one big group of us :)

Kendrick at 13 months

Kendrick turned 13 months old over the weekend and he continues to be in the playful and active stage. He walks a lot faster nowadays and can even turn in circles on the spot, walk sideways and also shown some instances of walking a few steps backwards. In this recent week, he also learnt to stand up on his own unassisted - that is from a squating position to a standing position. This little boy even imitated his Daddy who asked him to do 'squats'! Well, Kendrick's still got lots more to learn, but we're just thankful for every day of Kendrick's life. This little fella can be such a sweet little thing, calling all the people that he know every now and then. What's especially sweet is that Kendrick finally learnt to call me 'mee-mee' or 'meh-mee' just a week ago! Whenever he sees me he will call me that and it feels really nice :)

Celebrating Wai Gong's Birthday

We celebrated my Dad's birthday recently by having dinner at a restaurant in M Hotel. Kendrick was really active this evening. After his dinner, he did not want to sit in his baby chair and instead wanted to roam about. This boy is getting quite brave when it comes to walking around. Sometimes he don't really care where we are and he will walk on wherever he felt like going. We really have to keep an eye on him all the time! Interestingly at M Hotel, there was this statue of a Bull in the lobby, pretty apt since it's the Year of the Ox. Kendrick had some fun touching it....
