Family Portrait

We decided to have a little bit of photo-taking fun since the 3 of us had a hair cut. In the end, I thought the photos look so 'studio-like'. Haha... Here's our favourite with Kendrick giving his magnum look... :P

And here are some other shots we took....

Kendrick very 'action' here, opening his arms wide wide!

Playful Kendrick

Kendrick was in a pretty playful mode on Friday and Saturday. One new thing he seemed to have learnt is to keep sticking out his tongue. Actually, I'm also suspecting that he may be on the verge of teething. Some changes I noted include him getting a bit more grumpy at times, plus he seems to use his tongue to lick something, and sometimes he will close his mouth where his upper lip seems to be sucking his lower lips (haha..dunno how to describe). I tried checking his gums but don't really see anything yet. Maybe in another month or so??! So far no fever yet too. Well, hope it's not too nightmarish when the time comes!

"Neh Neh Ni Boo Boo, you cannot stop me"
Kendrick entertaining himself in the walker/rocker

Bought him this pyjamas thinking that it can fit, but seems like a bit small...sigh...
Kendrick is able to move about easily on the bed..whether it's backwards, or right or left. He seems to enjoy doing these 'push-ups'. Hehe...

Kendrick's 3rd haircut (25 Jul 2008)

We brought Kendrick to trim his hair on Friday as Dear and I were on leave. In the morning, Kendrick went for his Hep B 3rd dose. At 6.5mths, Kendrick weighs about 8.7kg and is 71.6cm tall. Anyway, Kendrick cried the moment the needle went in and after that, he jerked about making it quite difficult to apply pressure to the injection point. There was a little bit of blood but luckily it stopped soon enough as we applied pressure to it. Since this jab does not lead to any fever, we proceeded directly to Dear's aunt's shop to cut our hair. Kendrick was slightly more well-behaved today. Perhaps bringing a toy along to distract him helps :)

"Stay away from me....go go!"
"Ok Daddy, I will sit still..."
"Finally done! Think I feel pretty good..."
"Ok, here's my latest pose :P "

Ba Ba?

Just wanted to add in this entry to note that Kendrick seemed to have mouthed the word "ba-ba" this evening. Previously he used to say such a word in one syllable. But today, he actually said it in two syllables, so that's something new. Haha..of course, everyone thinks that he's calling his Daddy already. Well... Mummy know that it is harder to make the 'ma' sound...so will wait patiently.....

Kendrick was quite funny today too. He was sitting in the high chair this evening and his actions really made me laugh. He started rocking or bouncing himself to and fro as if he was rocking to some music. He also started to use his hand to hit against the table, as if he was creating some sort of sound or rhythm. Perhaps he is learning about sounds!

However, one thing I'm not sure about now is whether or not Kendrick is sick. I noticed that he seemed to have some cough since this morning, here and there, and in the night, he seemed rather cranky. Sigh..a bit heartache if he really is sick. Just hope that it is nothing....

PAW Walk for Babies & Toddlers 2008

We brought Kendrick to Bishan Park this morning for the PAW Walk, organised mainly by Wyeth Pharmaceuticals. This walk is basically a Pneumococcal Disease Awareness event where parents can learn more about this disease and how to prevent their kids from getting it.

We arrived at around 8.45am and the park was already full of parents with their little ones. Most of the younger babies were all in prams, while toddlers were running around. At least it was a bright and shiny morning without any rain! So pretty good weather though a little on the warm side. Anyway, we just went for the fun of it since the event was just opposite our flat. Got a goodie bag and the information trail walk was just a simple 500m track. Kendrick seemed pretty quiet initially when we first arrived. I guess seeing so many people and things happening around him must have intrigued him. He finally lightened up after we started the walk. :)

At the start-off point of the information trail. Kendrick looks rather stressed. Haha...

Family photo time!

Met up with Evonne and her son, Baby Darius who is about 3mths old already. Kendrick is the kor kor here at 6mths+

Kendrick seemed to be able to sit upright by himself in the pram for a few seconds..a new mini milestone!

Getting stronger

I kinda noticed that Kendrick seems to be getting stronger lately. He loves to stand when carried and when he rolls over, he pushes himself up quite high...just like doing push-ups! Besides moving around the bed which he seems to be able to do so when he rolls here and there, there were a few occasions where Kendrick raised his butt up and 'attempted' some form of crawling action. But that's about it. Well, he's already 6 mths... so hopefully by next month he can sit upright without support first!

Push-up!

Still enjoying his meals...yummy :)

Bath time..hehe...

Cool man

Like Mother Like Son?

I've been wanting to do up an entry like this for some time, so finally decided to give it a shot today. Many people have asked or commented about who Kendrick looks like more...well, personally, I would say, a bit like me, a bit like Daddy. But if you compare his baby look to Mummy's baby look.... then maybe you will see a different picture :P Let the pictures do the talking....

Kendrick's new walker

This weekend seems to be a lot of 'firsts' for Kendrick. First time eating cereal and also first time sitting in this new walker which we bought from NTUC since they had some good offer. I thought it looked pretty cute. The design is actually that of a mock up Mercedez car. Hehe. Anyway, this walker is really something new to Kendrick. When we put him in, he seemed very distracted by what it is and things around him when we moved him around. When we tried letting his feet touch the ground, he still does not know how to move about yet. I guess in another few more weeks, it may be a different story!

Kendrick seemed a little stunned when we put him in the walker. Guess he didn't know what this thing is

Took us some effort to make him smile... :)

Mummy and Kendrick

Again, some effort to get him to smile as he was simply distracted with everything else around him

Kendrick's first cereal meal

This weekend, we decided to let Kendrick try his first cereal meal as he is turning 6 months on Monday! On Saturday, we introduced one feed of cereal meal to let him get used to it. In fact, we only gave him 2 tablespoons of cereal mix as a start first. The guide says to increase the amount every 2 to 3 days. We plan to start with one meal for a week first, then see if we can get him to take it for 2 meals a day. Well, it turned out pretty fine after all. Kendrick seemed to like eating it and finished everything that we gave him. Perhaps it's something new and different to him, but let's hope he will guai guai eat every day! Then soon we will let him try some fruit puree or vege. Gosh, a milestone indeed! From here on, it's not just milk all day...which is much easier! Haha...

"What's Mummy and Daddy up to putting me in this high chair and wearing this new bib?"

"Hmm...this tastes strange"

"But I think I like it! Yummmm"

"Ok, Daddy says smile for him, but I can't. Mummy just put another spoonful into my mouth!"

"Like not very satisfying leh. Eat my foot lah. Tastes better"

"Yup, that's cheeky me with Mummy after my first cereal meal!"

Rolling about

About 1 and half weeks back, Kendrick has learnt how to roll back after he has rolled onto his tummy. It happened at my in-laws place, so I didn't really have the chance to see him do so until we were at home on the weekend. He's now pretty good at rolling to and fro, so we really have to watch out for him and ensure that he does not roll off the bed!! Anyway, Mummy and Daddy are real proud of him! I think he feels happier now that he knows how to roll to and fro. Can see him enjoying the process :)

Kendrick loves to make a lot of noises too when you walk past him or when you don't talk to him. It's as if he's shouting for attention. He's also learnt to say some simple words like 'ba', or 'ah goo' every now and then. My PILs think that Kendrick is calling his Daddy already, but I would like to think not! Haha. Kendrick's also really fast with his hands in terms of wanting to grab everything that is in his sight and of coz, put them into his mouth for tasting! Well, he's going to hit the 6 months milestone already! Gosh...that means moving onto feeding him semi-solid food. Can imagine from here onwards, it's going to be another challenge!

Daddy was playing and making Kendrick laugh while Mummy was queuing for the toilet at Suntec City. I could even hear Kendrick's laughter from the entrance of the toilet

Daddy reading to Kendrick who caught Mummy taking a photo of him!

Smiley Kendrick sitting on the bumbo seat!! Love to see you smile boy!

Mummy carrying Kendrick after lunch at Shokodu....don't you think he looks quite like a big boy in this picture?!
